Hello All,

I am playing along with The Color Throwdown and CASology. I just got this stamp at my discount store. It is by Deep Red called Heartfelt Hug the message is perfect for CASology. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

One layer card is filled with encouragement and love.
The color combination is perfect for this challenge.
I masked the word 'hug' and then sponged Salty Ocean.
  Challenges Entered:
Color Throwdown: ctd475
CASology: Week 282- Hug

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Magical Merlin

Hello All,

For today I am going to be playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and Color Throwdown. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Above: I do enjoy the white on white brick wall background. The wall something so ordinary seems to give the wizard a more mystical appearance. It also anchors our wizard and gives him a place to land. Below/Left: The ombre background strips gives a mystical feel of magic in the air. Bottom/Right: The magic twinkles on the front are all black. Yet, when you open the card they become colorful or magical. The sentiment in the front and inside the card is one stamp. I used the masking technique to separate them into two sentiments.
An example of the stamp that was used.
Above: Detailed examples from the front. I left some 'bricks' in the wall for texture and dimension. Below: The wizard was colored using Mexpy alcohol markers then die cut. I just think he is so mystically awesome.

Winter Snowflakes

Hello Everyone,

Creative with Stamps have graciously invited me to their guest designer from mid-October to mid-January. So, for now, I say goodbye and thank you to my lovely hosts. That said, this is my last inspiration post for Creative with Stamps. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Snowflakes is the name of the game at Creative with Stamps.
The frosty ombre blue is so pretty in contrast with the black background snowflakes.
Challenge #22

The snowflake border on top of the card is from SU; isn't it beautiful?
The other die-cut snowflakes were also done using the ombre effect. I wanted contrast. I used the light area of the snowflake in the dark sky and vice versa.

The banner comes from the same die set as the snowflake border die.
I used a small portion of the die to create the stitched scallop banner.
The stamp is a find from Salvation Army for sixty-nine cents!
The sentiment is so well done and so true to its word.
 Entering Challenges:
Cupcake Inspirations: Challenge #437
Make My Monday: Challenge #62- Blue and White
Stamping Sensations: January Challenge- Cold and    Frosty Colours

I also want to thank you for taking time out of your busy life to visit me. I am always touched by your visits. I will be back with more from TheGrandStampede. So until next take care and happy stamping.

Watercolor Bottle

Hello Everyone,

Today I will be entering CAS(E) this Sketch. I have always been inspired by the figure-ground reversal technique. Here is my design for today, enjoy!

The card uses figure-ground reversal which I think is so visually awesome.
The line to transition is meant to be the liquid that still remains in the bottle.

I have always said I love snow if only it wasn't cold. I am here to say it is absolutely freezing. Strangely enough, yesterday scored temperatures in the sixties Fahrenheit. Only in Michigan, you can drive with the windows open enjoying the temperate temperatures and within a few hours scrape ice off your windshield. Ho-Hum but I can still look at the bright side. I can still make a card!

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Hey Bulldog!

Hello All,

The entire time while creating, editing, and now typing I had the Beatles song titled 'Hey Bulldog' stuck in my head. My earworm, of course, is the chorus, 'hey bulldog!'. The ending is what really cracks me up when we hear howling and barking made by the Beatles. So, here is my card for today, enjoy. Oh, I forgot to mention I will be playing along with City Crafter Challenge, Seize the BirthdayNaughty or Nice Challenge and Try Stamping on Tuesday

The bulldog was stamped on watercolor paper and then covered by masking fluid. When finished with the background I just rubbed off the fluid.
There are a ton of colors underneath the Black Soot Distress Ink.
They do seem to show through when picking up the ink with water.
I know, I know it is snarky but technically I am not swearing 😁.
I like this card because not all dogs are cutesy and cuddly. Some of them mean business. I thought it was a different way to look at dogs.
This sentiment is located inside the card; a section that I always seem to ignore.
Since we are talking dogs, here is my dog, Crown. He is a black lab rescued from Beruit, Lebanon. He was found with a broken leg and most certainly have died if Hearts of Hope didn't intervene.

City Crafter Challenge: Week 393- Colorful Dog(s)
Try Stamping on Tuesday: Negative Space Coloring
Naughty or Nice Challenge: #47- Celebrate
Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes

And oh by the way, here is the song 'Hey Bulldog' for your earworm enjoyment.

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Black and White Thank you

Hello All,

It has been awhile since I posted for a challenge. Well, here I am cramming multiple challenges into one card- Freshly Made Sketches, Color Throwdown and The Flower Challenge. So, here we go, enjoy!

Elegant is the adjective I would use to describe this card.
Simple color palette allows this card's sentiment to pop!
The spotlight technique seems
to really work with this card. The flowers seem to glow against the neutral cardstock. The white background also seems to accentuate this effect too
A head-on picture of the card showing the spotlight technique
and classic color palette.
Freshly Made Sketches: FMS318
Color Throwdown: ctd474
The Flower Challenge: #16- Spotlight Stamping

Tis' the season for thank you notes. I think Santa's sleigh broke down at our house and he had to unload some of his baggage under our tree. Seriously though, we have some very generous gift givers and a thank you note is in order. So it is time to get into my stash and send them out in appreciation. Then, replenish for next year. That is where this card comes into play.

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

New Beginnings

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the first challenge of 2018 at The Male Room! We have a lot in store for this year and am very excited to share them with you throughout the coming months. This month's theme is perfect for this time of year, New Beginnings. Whether it is a resolution to get organized, save money, or read one book a month (that one is mine!) a new year is a great way to start fresh and new! With that in mind, here is my card for today, enjoy!

Sparkle and a beautiful sunset fill this card with the anticipation of the New Year. It seems fireworks start when there is still a bit of light. I wanted to create the sunset (out with the old) and the sentiment (in with new) scenario.

Our local news always broadcasts the sunsets for the day. Well, yesterday was amazing... I would venture to say it was downright awe-inspiring. So much so that is what inspired this sunset with an urban city watching as the night unfolds.
Of course, I had to have a bit of sparkle it is New Years!
Well, that should do it for me. I hope you enjoyed your stay but more importantly, I hope you join our challenge at The Male Room. Until then take care and looking forward to seeing you at The Male Room!! Happy crafting!!
