Masking Leaves

Hello All,

Here to share a new challenge at The Male Room. For today we are experimenting with masking. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This card would not be possible without a MISTI
and Post-it notes 😊. It is precise, detailed and very easy to achieve.

All the white really allows the masking to shine.
I also just adore this sentiment by SU. So simply perfect.
I used a stitched die cut to create a frame around my focal point. I think it grounds the elements of the card.
The trick with masking is to overlap your mask just a bit on the overlapping image.  This way it will be crisp without any gaps.
Well, that should do it for me. I hope you enjoyed your stay but more importantly, I hope you join our challenge at The Male Room. Until then take care and happy stamping! Take care all and looking forward to seeing you at The Male Room!! Happy crafting!!

All the best,
Shawna

MHKDesigns Inspiration Post

Hello All,

Welcome to TheGrandStampede! Today I am going to show you some inspiration for your MHKDesigns digital stamps. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The background was done using the shaving cream technique.
I actually did this background about two years ago and was looking for the perfect project to display it and then thought of using my MHKDesigns stamps! I think it turned out beautifully.

MHKDesigns vintage images work so well with each other.

I invite you to check out her Etsy store and see for yourself
the versatility of stamp sets and the variety of digital papers we have to offer
______________________________

I decided to leave the the MHKDesigns image uncolored as to not compete with the background. In fact, I feel leaving it uncolored allows it to pop only adding to design's beauty.
I love the leaves overlapping the die cut sentiment.
It adds the perfect amount of detail.
I encourage you to stop by the MHKDesigns blog to see more inventive ideas from our design team, and then play along with our monthly challenge, or just enjoy a bit of eye candy.

There is a lot more to discover at MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! Stop on over and see what we have to offer. It is certain to spark the imagination. So, thank you for stopping by and hope to see you soon. Take care and happy crafting.

All the best,

Krafty Colors

Hello Crafty Friends,

Well, here I go again with another challenge. For tonight I am going to be playing along with My Time to Craft, Inkspirational, and Fab Friday. Here is my card for tonight, enjoy!

Lots of visual and tactile texture.
Notice all the buttons hiding in the flowers. 💖
Inkspirational's challenge intrigued me (Oldie but Goodie) I had to look through my stash and pick one of my first set's I received. I chose the set from Stampin' Up called 'My Friend' that I acquired in 2012ish.
My Friend - Clear-Mount Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!
I really like the burlap leaves along with the kraft paper.
They work so well together.
These colors are the exact colors from FabFriday.
However, the large buttons are saturated with the color that makes it seem darker.

 Challenges Entered:
My Time to Craft Challenge Blog: #353- Krafty
Fab Friday: #120- Colour Challenge
Inkspirational: #142- Designer's Choice

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

All the best,
Shawna

Southwestern Glamping

Hello Everyone,

For tonight I will, once again, be playing along with Fusion. We bought a travel trailer last year so you could officially call us 'glampers'. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The colors of the camper were inspired by the photo. The sky is a bit different from the inspiration but I wanted to emphasize the one thing the west owns, and that is a big and beautiful sky.

Above: The cactus was a stencil I cut with the Cricut. Left/Below: The retro camper wasn't complete without some texture. The 'ribs' on the camper add a ton of character. Right/Bottom: The sky's base is the same color as the inspiration. I used a dry brush to add the wispy sky and then sponged it for a more concentrated color.

Fusion: Glamping (used sketch & photo)

Boots

Hello All,

Today I am going to be playing along with Just Us Girls and Freshly Made Sketches. Here is my card for today enjoy!

I added a 'shelf' for the pair of boots using the same paper that was used to the borders. It highlights the sentiment and gives the boots some ground to stand on.
Above: The banner of boots was stamped using a lighter color than the framed pair to create a banner effect. Thank goodness for the Misti because I would never be this accurate 😊. Below/Left: The sentiment cracks me up! It was actually one stamp that I cut into two separate stamps. I like the contrast of this sentiment it seems to balance out the design. Bottom/Right: Again I used my MISTI to create this pair of boots. The lighter boot was stamped in rust and then 'thumped' using dark chocolate ink to create some texture.

Challenges Entered:
Just Us Girls: #409- Word Week
Freshly Made Sketches: FMS304

Spirograph Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

For today I am entering my card into CAS(E) this Sketch. This sketch is so intriguing and had to try it out! So, here is my card for today, enjoy!

I used my daughter's Spirograph set to create this colorful design.
(I know there is a technical name for this but I cannot remember it) She received a Spirograph for Christmas one year and I think I was more excited than she when she opened the package.
I really to enjoy the black backdrop and sentiment strip.
I think it really allows those Spirograph colors to pop!
For those who have a Spirograph here is my recipe to achieve this design.
150/55 wheel, #52 gear, in hole 1-x7
I experimented with several colors and found this combination to be the best.

CAS(E) this Sketch: CTS#237

So I tried to look into the science of Spirographs and then I remembered some flashbacks of Trigonometry class. Brain turned off so I decided to just focus on the beauty of these geometrical gems. While 'researching' I came upon this website where you can create your own Spirograph online!! I found it to be a great way to kill a couple of minutes of your precious time. Check it out here! I added this cool graphic showing how a Spirograph works. If you haven't tried one I HIGHLY recommend it. It is seriously hours of creative fun. Plus, this activity would be awesome for kiddos too.

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

All the best,
Shawna

P.S. here is what I created using the Inspirograph site. So much fun!

Then I recreated my hand crafted card design into a digital design. Looks exactly the same!
